'Soter' is Greek for Savior, Healer, and Liberator. Jesus paid for our salvation, healing, and deliverance through His suffering and death.
Thus, in the painting, you see a sunrise and light. A radiant new day, a new era, dawning in all its color.
Psalm 2 tells us about Jesus who will make all nations His possession. And will rule them with an iron scepter.
Before He ascended to heaven, He gave that scepter to all who believe in Him in Matthew 28:18. In His name, we receive all power and authority to rule in His kingdom. A kingdom of life, freedom, and abundance.
That is why you see a crown and a scepter at the bottom of the cross.
When we bring our lives and our problems to Jesus, we enter His kingdom. And by grace, we receive a golden crown and a scepter. To reign in our lives in Jesus' name as kings and priests, as heirs and children of the Most High God.
